We Build Alaska is a comprehensive effort to inspire and motivate new people to join the construction industry in Alaska. Our primary goal is to create a bridge to connect potential construction workers with apprenticeship and training programs, providing them with the resources and information they need to get started. With the help of AGC of Alaska, the CIPF Fund and its efforts to create the We Build Alaska campaign – everyone has the opportunity to make a career in the Alaska Construction industry.

What are the benefits of a CTE Program?

Earning Potential

CTE programs prepare students for the real world, teaching them hands-on skills and allowing them to learn while they earn. Starting salaries range anywhere from $20-$48 per hour.

Program Support

Many CTE programs require students to be physically present in locations outside of where they live, so support is offered in the form of a stipend that assists students financially when it comes to transport, as well as lodging.

A Thriving Industry

The construction industry offers boundless possibilities for employment, a rapid trajectory of career progression, extraordinary earning potential and on-the-job training. Jobs in the construction industry pay more than 35% higher when compared to other jobs. The average annual income for a construction worker is $81,600, plus great benefits and opportunities for growth.
